Mmountain bike tour Kreuzjöchlsee in Austria

We start our mountain bike ride in Wörgl in Tyrol / Austria at train station. On the bike path we ride to Hopfgarten. Just right to be warm in the Windautal. From the Windautal valley we crank up to Westendorf and go right before we reach the village. We cycle in the direction of Oberwindau. After a short time we turn left on a forest road in the direction of Choralpe. The route is an official mountain bike tour and is excellent marked with signs along the track. At the crossing Choralpe and Brechhornhaus we are cycling in the direction of Brechhornhaus. The whole tour takes place on excellent forest roads. The route rises constant over the whole course, but never really steep. After reaching the Brechhornhaus, there are only a few more curves until Kreuzjöchlsee. At Kreuzjöchlsee we attach a brief break, and here we can enjoy the splendid panorama. The lake is an artificial lake which is integrated in nature extremely successful. Then there is a pleasant descent to Brixen. The forest road to Brixen is very simple and can be reached without great excitement. It also could be possibly to go to Kirchberg. Maybe this would be a exciting opportunity. From Brixen we go on marked cycle routes back to Wörgl.

A wonderful route. The Kreuzjöchlsee is an example of how we can build a snow machine lake suitable to the landscape.Happy Austria!
